BABCP Accredited Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapist

About Me

Over the past 10 years I have gained experience working in a variety of mental health settings. I worked for the Cambridge and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust for five years. I now work in private practice and I’m currently training to specialise in Psychological Trauma.

I have experience facilitating both one-to-one and group Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), working with individuals with a range of clinical presentations, such as Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Low Self-Esteem, and Generalised Anxiety Disorder. In order to capture an individual’s world view, I incorporate a transdiagnostic approach to the therapy sessions, supporting individuals to develop a coherent narrative of their life experiences, whilst providing meaning and facilitating positive change. I have recently began integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into my practice, which involves identifying uncomfortable thoughts and feelings, whilst establishing new ways of relating to them, increasing psychological flexibility.

I also have experience working with physical health conditions and an understanding of the reciprocal relationship between physical and mental health. I have facilitated self-esteem and anxiety management courses and adapt therapeutic interventions in response to individual needs.

I am committed to supporting individuals to live a meaningful life through fostering an open and honest therapeutic environment, establishing and strengthening emotional resilience.

I engage in regular individual and peer supervision and attend workshops and training to further develop my practice.
