About Me

Sometimes life imposes challenges to us, and we struggle to cope. We find ourselves immersed in an emotional turmoil, we tend to judge and create negative evaluations about ourselves and our actions, ending up feeling despondent, angry, guilty, and hopeless.

Therapy can help to remedy our difficulties and alleviate stress, depression, and anxiety. As we are unable to control external situations and circumstances, we learn how to identify and alter unhelpful patterns. Identifying and changing those, we can choose how we respond to challenges, feel empowered, learning to trust ourselves and making positive changes in our lives.

My first course of studies was in Medical Anthropology and Cultural psychiatry, ignited by a long-life interest in overcoming mental illness, improving wellbeing, obtaining healing, prospering, and thriving. Over the years, my passion for healing and thriving within different social and cultural contexts in Anthropology, changed to a passion for Psychotherapy and healing involved in the human inner world.

I am passionate about being present when people need a kind listening ear and compassionate support. I am a firm believer that challenges and difficulties can ameliorate and lead to greater inner equilibrium and a deeper sense of self. From this place, we can form meaningful relationships with others and ourselves and find purpose and meaning in our lives.

I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural therapist, Interpersonal Psychotherapy therapist and Integrative counsellor with over 15 years of experience working in different mental health settings. I initially studied Psychosynthesis counselling in the Psychosynthesis Education trust and worked in the third sector and private practice in London and internationally online.

After being an Integrative Counsellor and trainer for many years, I became interested in evidence-based therapies approved by NICE guidelines, as I value research and want to abide by the latest scientific outcomes. I became an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and CBT supervisor and have been working in the NHS for the past 8 years. I also have worked as a Senior clinician co-managing a team of 30 CBT therapists in IAPT service. I am currently working as a lecturer and supervisor in the PGDip course in CBT therapy in the University of East Anglia.

I have been offering one to one sessions, but also delivered group therapy sessions in Mindfulness, Building Self Esteem, Compassion focused therapy and overcoming social anxiety.

My experience has been that CBT therapy can be highly effective in treating Anxiety disorders, such as OCD, Generalised anxiety disorder, social anxiety, Illness anxiety, low self esteem, depression, PTSD.

I am deeply interested in learning more and improving my knowledge and skills as a therapist. I attend regularly CPD events and training. I incorporate different models of therapy in my clinical practice, such as Compassion focused therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Mindfulness, Biodynamic breath work.

I am currently training as a Biodynamic Breathwork trauma release therapist with the BBTRS Institute.
